It was designed to look like the dhow of an Arab ship as it rises over the Arabian gulf. The building reaches a height of 321 meters and during the night, it is usually illuminated with choreographed color sculptures of fire and water.

The islands comprises of the Palm Jebel Ali, the Palm Deira and Palm Jumeirah.

The building houses the highest mosque in the world at the 158 floor, it houses the world highest swimming pool at the 76th floor and the world’s highest viewing platform at the 124th floor.
It is shaped like a pyramid and houses over 900 luxury apartments, office suites and the luxurious Armani hotel.

7. The Dubai fountain
Holding the title of the largest dancing fountain on Earth, the fountain is illuminated with 6600 lights and 25 color projectors which help to create a visual spectrum of 1000 abstract attractions. The lights can be seen from 20 miles away and is also visible from the outer space. It is 275 meters long and can spray 83,000 liters of waters which can be shot as high as 152 meters in sync to classical Arabic and other world music.

It has a wave like design and is known to be an architectural wonder in the world. The 5 star hotel stands at 93 meters high and 275 meters long. It is a 26 storey building that is curved both in plan and elevation. There are 20 restaurants, bars, a private beach and offers unlimited access to the wild wadi water park. Since it is located near the sail shaped Burj Al Arab, the combination helps to mimic a sail navigating a wave.

As the tallest hotel in the world, the 72 storey building stands at 355 meters and is spread across two iconic towers. The buildings has 14 food and beverage outlets, rooftop bars, business center, a 3700 square meter spa and health club.

As the largest natural flower garden on Earth, the Dubai miracle garden is located in the middle of the desert. It is 72,000 square meters and has more than 45 million flowers which have been designed into hearts, stars, igloos, pyramids, arc shaped walkways and vintage cars. The flowers usually change each season.
The garden has entered into the Guinness book of records as the world’s biggest flower clock.
15. The world islands

The world islands
This is a collection of 300 artificial islands which have been constructed to appear as continents and the world itself. It is located 4 kilometers from the coast of Dubai and it was developed using tons of sand, rock and the entire project covers an area of 6 by 9 kilometers.
Each of the 300 islands was made to be sold to wealthy individuals from around the world. The amazing thing is that the world islands are visible from outer space through a naked eye.
16. Hydropolis – first underwater luxury resort

It holds the title of the first underwater luxury resort in the world and it is located 66 feet below Arabian gulf surface. It is made of reinforced concrete and steel, with plexiglass walls and bubble shaped dome ceilings. This will offer tourists a view of the fish and other sea creatures around the Arabian gulf.
The hydropolis has 220 guest suites and is located near the Jumeira beach hotel.
17.Dubai Land

This theme park is twice the size of Walt Disney world in Orlando, Florida. It has an area of 107 square miles and will host 45 mega projects and 200 sub projects. It is divided into 6 zones namely attractions and experience world, sports and outdoor world, eco tourism world, themed leisure and vacation world, retail and entertainment world and downtown.
The theme park may open before the year 2020.
18. Dubai sports city

Known as the world’s first integrated purpose built sports city, the stadium sits on 50 million square feet of mixed use development. It will have the following sports complexes: DSC multi purpose stadium which will be a 60,000 seat outdoor and will be used for athletics, cricket and football. There will be the cricket stadium which will have a capacity of 25,000 seats and the indoor arena, with 10000 seats will be home to basketball, volleyball, handball and badminton among others. It is owned by Dubai properties and was opened on 30th June 2014.
19. Dynamic Tower

Known also as the Da Vinci tower, the wind powered rotating skyscraper will rise to 80 floors and sits on an area measuring 420 square meters. It was designed by David Fisher and the tower floors are meant to rotate independently. The floor will each rotate to a maximum of 6 meters per minute or 90 minutes in one full rotation. Each floor will be fabricated at the factory, shipped to the construction site and allow the engineers to complete building it in 22 months.
The rotating skyscraper will be wind and solar powered and will be able to generate 1,200,000 kilowatts hours of energy.
20. Water discus hotel

It will be known as the world’s largest underwater hotel and features two discuses, one above the water and another below. The hotel will offers guests a view of the marine animals in their natural habitat while they are either dining or sleeping or holding conferences. The lower discus will rest 33 feet below the surface of the ocean. It will have 21 rooms all with incredible views and will offer guests 11,000 square feet of living space both above and below the water.
The top discus will host hotels, restaurants, helipad and bars while visitor will access the lower discus via glass walled tunnels to their rooms.
